What is Omega-3?

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are essential long-chain polyunsaturated fats found in fish oil, krill oil, and algae. They are the most studied supplement for cardiovascular health, with multiple large randomized controlled trials showing reductions in triglycerides, blood pressure, and cardiovascular events. EPA and DHA are also key structural components of brain tissue and resolve inflammation through specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs). Most adults do not consume enough EPA/DHA from diet alone.

Evidence grade: A. The single best-supported longevity supplement most people don't take enough of. Read the full evidence review: Omega-3 ingredient page.
