What it is

Apigenin is a flavonoid found in parsley, chamomile, celery, and grapefruit. In cell studies it blocks an enzyme called CD38 that consumes NAD+ as we age.

Why people take it

The theory: less CD38 activity means less NAD+ destruction, so your NAD+ pool stays higher for longer. Direct human trials on aging endpoints are not yet available; most evidence is preclinical or mechanistic.

Biologically interesting but human evidence is thin. Very safe at supplement doses (50 to 500 mg/day). Reasonable as a low-cost add-on to a NAD+ strategy, not a lead actor.
