Resveratrol for Improved Performance in the Elderly (RIPE) — clinical trial listing
A rare two-year cognitive-and-physical outcome trial comparing 300 mg and 1,000 mg per dag of resveratrol against placebo in older adults.
RIPE is one of the longer-duration resveratrol trials on record. It compares 300 mg per dag and 1,000 mg per dag against placebo for 24 months, with cognitive and physical performance as primär endpoints, in older adults. We include the ClinicalTrials.gov listing because the full outcome paper has been slow to publish. This is exactly the kind of long-duration, dose-comparison, hard-endpoint trial that could actually settle whether resveratrol does anything meaningful in an aging population. It has not yet done so publicly.
Studie status and outcomes are documented at ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT01126229.
Results have not yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal in a form that lets us judge effect size.
