Blueprint protocol page: acarbose frequency update
PROTOCOL CHANGE: the current page now lists acarbose 200 mg twice daily, adding a frequency detail to the prescription section; no new outcome series is reported.
The 26 August 2026 protocol snapshot adds “twice daily” to the acarbose line. The page lists acarbose 200 mg (prescription) twice daily in the medication section. The previous 19 August snapshot listed the 200 mg dose without that frequency detail. The page still presents the wider routine as a personal protocol that includes multiple prescription medicines, supplements, exercise, dietary rules, and measurement practices. It does not report when the frequency changed, adherence, a washout period, a comparator, or an outcome series attributable to acarbose. The page’s historical and non-FDA-approved-treatment disclaimers remain. This is a documentation change, not evidence that twice-daily acarbose improves longevity or a specific biomarker in Johnson. Acarbose has human diabetes and metabolic-outcome literature, but no study identified in this week’s Blueprint sweep meets the task’s automatic upgrade rule for the ingredient record based on a new critic piece or referenced study. The change should therefore be tracked as a protocol update only. It is flagged because dose frequency is clinically relevant and should not be inferred from a general prescription listing.
Acarbose 200 mg (Rx) (twice daily).
No new critic piece or referenced human RCT/meta-analysis this week justifies an evidence-grade change for acarbose. The underlying protocol URL is the verified source: https://blueprint.bryanjohnson.com/pages/blueprint-protocol.
