The telomere length finding in older adults is intriguing and directly relevant to aging, but requires replication in larger cohorts. The lipid-lowering effect is real but clinically modest — the 2026 metaanalys authors explicitly stated it should not justify routine use as a lipid-lowering therapy.

Consumer device quality varies enormously. Some electrolysis bottles may not achieve the H2 concentrations used in clinical trials, and some may produce unwanted byproducts (ozone, chlorine) if source water contains contaminants. Magnesium-based tablets provide more consistent dosing (typically ~1.6 ppm) and were used in the NCT04175301 brain cancer supportive care trial at Stony Brook University.
